Rice County Historical Society events at THE FAIR
The school, log cabin, church, and Harvest and Heritage Halls are free during the fair. There is a reduced Fair admission fee for the main museum building. Please check the signboards for the daily schedule of activities. We look forward to seeing you. There will be hands on activities activities at the log cabin, including shelling corn, grinding wheat, making butter, doing laundry on a washboard, and using a small loom among other activities.l There will also be an opportunity for the children to participate in old-fashioned games. There will be knitting and tatting demonstrations, and old fashioned soap making.
If you own a pre-1960s car you are invited to park it at the back of the RCHS Museum while you are at the Fair. Wednesday, July 21st through Sunday, July 25th. No time commitment, come and go as you wish. Come into the front of the Museum for your parking pass and be a part of this gathering of old cars.

Don’t miss the opportunity to tie the knot for FREE! Saturday, July 24th the Rice County Historical Society will be sponsoring the sixth Annual Fair Weddings. The weddings will take place during the 2010 Rice County Agricultural Fair at the historic Holy Innocents Church located on the east side of the Rice County Fairgrounds.
Jan Stevens is this years officiant, or couples may use their own officiant. The Society will also be providing floral decoration for the weddings. All couples are required to have a legal Minnesota Marriage license at the time of the service. Must reserve the church, please contact RCHS at 507-332-2121 or rchs@rchistory.org. The Church is available at other times of the year for a fee.
WE NEED YOU
The Rice County Historical Society is looking for piano players of all skill levels to perform during the Rice County Fair in the Museum of History. The pianists will be playing on a 1890s Schmimmel Piano with was made in Faribault. Call the RCHS to sign up or take a chance that there will be an open spot on the day you are here.
