Ron Parker has a list of accomplishments over a mile long. He has volunteered on the Rice County Historical Society, Rice County Agricultural Board, River Bend Nature Center Board just to name a few. While volunteering in his 4-H years he helped rebuild the horse barn. He helped build the grandstand on the fairgrounds in the 70's. He was the one to climb on top of the grandstands and put install the brackets and put the flags on the edge of the grandstand. These are just a few of his volunteering items. If you see Ron make sure you congratulate him.
Evelynn wrote a wonderful essay about a time when she was helping on the family farm with the hay. One of the horses got stuck in the muck as they got out the horses were spooked and were running towards the barbed wire fence. Evelynn had to decide if she was going to jump by didn't want to get hit by the hay rack or run over by the tires. As she was about to jump the rake stopped moving and she fell into the grassy meadow. What a great memory and so glad that she was unharmed after that event.
